Resources & FAQ’s  //  Everything You Need To Know To Get Started

Our Process

  • Step 1 Solar Site Assessment:

First we gather some information including a completed site survey / design request form, and a satellite image, prior to conducting an on site solar assessment. We will then come out to examine your location’s solar radiance, infrastructure, potential shading issues, installation options and energy usage requirements.

  • Step 2 System Cost Analysis:

We will then develop a customized solution, or solutions that are as efficient and cost effective as possible for your specific applications and budget requirements.

  • Step 3 System Design, Engineering and Acquisition:

Next we will design a specific system (or systems) optimized for your unique objectives. This will include the acquisition of all related hardware and balance of system components from our industry leading suppliers. Only the latest, most efficient, most reputable and most reliable components will be considered. All of which are designed for maximum energy harvest and durability. We will then complete and submit all the necessary design drawings and specifications, including wind loading, weight loading, and electrical code related information required to permit and commence the installation.

  • Step 4 Installation, Commissioning and Monitoring:

We then professionally install, turn up and performance test all of the system components and provide a comprehensive review of operating instructions and monitoring procedures.

  • Step 5 Warranty / Maintenance and Incentives:

We will insure that all the hardware related warranty information is submitted. All of the necessary state and federal incentives filing documents and procedures will then be completed and submitted. We will also provide and review any required maintenance procedures and discuss periodic system maintenance and performance testing options. IGT provides a 100% guarantee on hardware and installation ensuring that you have made a worry free investment.

Florida Green Energy

Florida Green Energy

The sunshine state has some of the best solar resources in the nation. Our latitude, climate, geography and solar radiation are ideal. Our sunny southern skies can help us all make good use of solar technologies.

Whether you decide to go with a solar electric or a solar thermal system, you can drastically reduce or even eliminate your dependence on the grid. With proven efficiency upgrades and conservation practices, you can save yourself thousands on utility costs while helping to protect the environment. New or existing construction, large or small systems, we can help anyone go green and become energy independent.

Design Request Form

The first step in going solar is doing a little research and providing us with some information so we can begin an assessment.  Please complete and submit the site survey /design request form above. That is the first step in achieving your energy independence. Or feel free to contact us with any questions prior to this step.

FAQ’s

What is a solar electric system, how does it work and how can it I use it?

A solar electric or photovoltaic system is a collection of electrical and mechanical hardware that captures and converts light energy and converts it into usable electrical energy. In short, the photons of light energy from the sun strike the photovoltaic module (solar panel) freeing electrical energy (electrons) which in turn can be used to power any electrical load imaginable. With a properly designed and installed system, anyone can put this product to use for any commercial or residential application.

How do I know what I need at my home or business to go solar electric?

All solar applications are generally custom designed systems. Start with an estimate and a site survey from a Florida state certified solar contractor ( CV License). Only a solar contractor has the specific training, experience and ability to design, permit, install, and maintain photovoltaic systems. And a solar contractor is the only state license holder that is allowed to complete and sign off on state incentive paperwork required for photovoltaic, solar water heating and solar pool heating rebate applications. A good solar contractor can show you the best ways to capture and convert the most solar energy on your property.

How much will I need and how much does it cost?

Everyone needs and uses electrical power in today’s society. How much solar you will need depends on how much commercial power you currently use and how much of that you would like to offset with solar. There are no standard requirements, and no limits. You can offset as little or as much commercial power usage with as little or as much solar as you want. You can even generate more power than you would normally use to create an energy credit or a net consumption of 0 or less commercial power. You can sell your excess back to the power company. It all depends on your location, your desires and your budget. Your solar contractor can help explain this as well as system costs in detail.

Aren’t there other practical uses for solar other than photovoltaics?

Yes, absolutely. Solar thermal technologies are an excellent application in our area. This would include solar collectors and systems designed to heat potable water for domestic and commercial use as well as solar pool heating systems. Both are quite effective and have a great return on investment. And the best part is that they work exceptionally well with no fuel or electricity costs.  Again, a solar contractor can show you all of the benefits of solar thermal applications.
